#STUSH fam try this Ackee & Saltfish Recipe!

Ingredients:

½ lbs Salt Fish – boil 8 -12 minutes
1 dozen Ackee fruit – with two or three fingers
1 ½ medium size Onions diced
2 small tomatoes diced
6 Garlic Cloves
1 green pepper (Scotch bonnet or real chili pepper)
1 ripe pepper (Scotch bonnet or real chili pepper)
1 teaspoon of Parley ( Dried or Fresh)
1 teaspoon of Basil ( Dried or Fresh)
1 teaspoon of Pimento Seeds
1 teaspoon Thyme (Fresh pieces together the size of one fingers)
¼ cup Coconut Oil ( or Olive oil)
½ cup of Water

* Remove Ackees from pods under running water, break off black seeds and remove all of the pink or red parts completely. (The pink or red parts inside the fruit are poisonous)*

Glaze wok/frying pan with coconut/olive oil

Shred Salt Fish and add to wok/frying pan

mix in onions and other spices

Toss lightly until Ackees are cooked yet firm

Add peppers last and remove quickly for less spiciness.

Serve with a side of callaloo (Jamaican Spinach) and some fried flour and/or cornmeal dumplings
