Jamaica completed a sweep of the 100 metres. Kimone Shaw won the girls’ Under-18 in 11.42 seconds and Waseem Williams the boys’ Under-18 in 10.36. The Under-20 girls’ gold went to Jonielle Smith (11.17) and the Under-20 boys’ 100m was won by Jevaughn Minzie in 10.18.

Okeen Williams 50.99 and Marvin Williams 51.22, of Jamaica, finished 1-2 ahead of Ruebin Walters (Bar) 51.68 in 400mH final also 1-2 for Jamaica in U20 400m hurdles

Martin Manley captured the Under-18 400m in 47.47 seconds. He crossed the line ahead of teammate Nathaniel Bann who took second in 49.01.

In the girls’ Under-18 400m Jamaica’s Tiffany James (53.79) was second behind Barbadian Sade Williams who won in 53.39. Jamaica pocketed silver and bronze in the girls’ Under-20 event. Guyana’s Kedecia Baird won in 53.48 ahead of Jamaica’s Dawnalee Loney (53.90) and Yanique McNeil (54.44).

Jamaica’s Nathan Allen (46.97) also took silver in the Under-20 boys’ 400m as Machel Cedenio of Trinidad and Tobago took gold in 45.90.

Jamaica collected three gold medals in the 1500 metres, with Jauvaney James, Chadayne Dawson and Sashagaye Whyte scoring victories.

James won the boys’ Under-18 event in 4:07.91, Dawson took the Under-20 equivalent in 3:56.93 and Whyte was victorious in the girls’ Under-20 in 4: 42.44, getting the better of teammate Monique McPherson who was second in 4:44.76.
