ODPEM seeks to reassure residents about Riverton fire adminstush March 22, 2015 Special, Suss The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is seeking to reassure residents that significant progress has been made in putting out the fire at the Riverton City disposal site in St Andrew. The fire has been burning for some ten days and ODPEM has given an assurance that it should be extinguished by tomorrow. And ODPEM says it was aware of reports from members of the public of lingering smoke cover in Portmore and parts of Kingston and St Andrew. However, Davis cautioned that based on the depth, size and magnitude of the fire, some smoke could still be evident even after the fire has been extinguished. #WhatDoYouThink?
